In 2006, Tego designed the first passive, wireless, high memory, extremely durable, long-life RFID chip. The goal, to advance information gathered on assets beyond identification and one static EPC or UDI number, creating instead an interactive memory bank that captures, records, and maintains valuable information over a long lifetime of use.

A truly ground-breaking characteristic of Tego’s technology is its 2700 fold increase in memory capability allowing innovative RFID functionality through multiple read/write cycles. Another pioneering feature of Tego’s technology is its ruggedness. Tego products are built to last 100 years, its high memory capability survives through exposure to high levels of radiation, and function across extreme temperature ranges.

Today Tego continues leading the passive, wireless, high memory RFID market segment, offering a chips, tags, and software to aviation, life sciences, nuclear, and oil and gas industries.

Simplify Complex Biologics Supply Chain with RFID Smart Asset Management
For many years, the life sciences and healthcare fields missed out on the efficiency, accuracy and cost benefits that RFID delivers. This is because RFID tags previously weren’t capable of surviving sterilization by autoclave or gamma and e-beam radiation. Fortunately, the technology now exists to allow this industry to incorporate RFID in their medical device manufacturing and healthcare supply chain processes, thanks to the Tego RFID solution.
