In early 2008 - after spending almost 10 years in the electronics manufacturing industry playing quality management roles - I was introduced to the RFID technology by a UPM RFID representative.
Acknowledging how exciting and new this technology was, understanding the possibilities and benefits what this new stuff can deliver to retail, manufacturing, supply chain management and many other sectors we formed QID Solutions Ltd.
Taking our background I don’t think is a big surprise that we identified our values in quality and customer focused mind-set, creativity and out of box thinking, which practically does not mean much more than we are always eager to understand what customer really needs and we study the problem from the farthest possible stand-point.
After learning as much as we possibly could about the technology we had the luck to start working together with the team of Anton Ltd, one of the best equipped, technologically advanced injection moulding company of Hungary, with customers like Bosch, Siemens, GE, Valeo. If it’s good for those folks should be good enough for us we thought, and definitely it turned out to be. In co-operation with them we introduced our first products, the QID-KMS series. The tags are still quite unique by their really extreme durability and IP 68 protection, which comes from the technology that we worked out together and have been applying on all our products since then. We keep manufacturing our products there as the quality and the service are at the highest standards but the moderate Hungarian labour cost allows us to offer our products on more than competitive prices.
Then we got a customer interested in an EAS RFID hard tag and that was the time we entered the apparel retail segment. We are so proud that we again could come out with an RFID tag for the fashion industry, which is very unique in its category and this one became our first product that is being registered as an international patent.
In the recent times we extended our team and narrowed our strategy to the following fields; UHF RFID hard tag based services in a field of retail applications, RFID tags for non-generic applications and RFID tag on-demand design.
